Non-Surgical Hair Treatments

Current technology has brought hair replacement a long way. But we don’t really like the term "replacement". We think you should enhance the hair you have. Previously, methods were extremely temporary, and often looked unnatural. Today’s techniques can change all that. Your hair can be transformed into a full, luxurious new look in a matter of hours... and it can be done discreetly and gradually. Afterwards, you won’t hear "What have you done with your hair?" but instead, "You look terrific!". Marsha Scott hair clinic specializes in non-surgical hair replacement.

Available to you are several different choices of different techniques that will supplement your own hair with radiant, healthy, gorgeous hair. And it’s real hair too. Only top quality human hair from China, India and Europe should be used, dyed and textured to match your own.

Extensions

Hair extensions is a method that makes thin hair thick, makes short hair long, and makes flat hair full. The extensions are attached to your own hair, strand by strand, in a delicate procedure. Color as well as texture will be matched. After, your hair can be washed, combed, and styled the same way you would your own.

A maintenance program will be introduced to you that will assist in caring for your hair, prolonging the life of the extensions. Hair extensions typically last anywhere from 3 to 5 months. For the most part you will treat you hair like you did before, so don’t worry.

The most common question asked about hair extensions is: "Will hair extensions damage my hair?" The answer is a resounding "NO." Clients have even said that they have increased their hair growth and follicle strength. Should you decide at some point not to continue wearing hair extensions, they can be removed with no adverse effects to your own hair.

Wigs & Prostheses (Commonly Asked Questions About Wigs)

Another option to consider is a wig or prostheses. When choosing what is best for you, realize that Alopecia areata is unpredictable. You may wish to cover a patchy area with a small hair addition, yet within a few weeks the addition may be ineffective due to further hair loss. Avoid partial hair additions or hairpieces that rely on existing hair until you know the condition has stabilized.

Hair units of either kind can be attached in many different ways according to the hair system you choose. Some hair pieces are attached to the scalp and/or integrated with existing hair with a medical adhesive, such as the MScott Method. A method developed by the founder of the "Hair Loss Clinic For Woman" and owner, Marsha Scott. This procedure is often called bonding. This method is a proven successful, safe, non-surgical method, and is easy to maintain.

The Le Matrix Volumizing Method consists of a custom designed hair unit of human hair carefully selected and dyed to match your own color, consistency and texture, that is attached to a track made of you own hair. Once the unit is in place, your hair will be woven through to blend with the unit. Maintenance of these systems is minimal. Depending on the rate of hair growth, the system will have to be periodically "tacked down" to keep from shifting.

An option for sufferers of Alopecia universalis, patients under going Chemotherapy, or hair loss from surgery, is the vacuum prosthesis. This is a hair unit made of human hair that attaches to the scalp, and contours naturally with the head. These units are designed to be light in weight, provide a snug but pleasantly comfortable fit and hand crafted to look and feel like natural hair. Nearly all hair enhancement systems can be treated as normal hair to be brushed, combed and washed as you have always done. The type of hair system you choose determines on what maintenance is required, and unfortunately none are a permanent solution.

These are just a few of the options available today in the ever changing field of hair replacement. When choosing the hair system that’s right for you, here are a few things to consider.

  • A hair piece of any kind should be made of human hair, dyed and textured to match your own.
  • The hair should be skillfully blended to become indistinguishable from your own.
  • Know what stage your hair loss is at.
